What are the best hydraulic disc brakes i can buy for 拢100 each.(for my dirt jumping bike)? |
they will go on my gt aggressor xc.3 My friend you will not go far wrong if you get in touch with these people, http://www.brakes.ca/index.html... what they don't know about hydraulic disc brakes you can forget. Don't think that bike has disc specific hubs unfortunately so you would need new wheels too. To be honest, if you are jumping with that bike and it's standard fork I doubt it will last too long anyway. If I'm wrong change your post to let us know what wheels and fork you have. Trust me, seriously, if you are using your bike for dirt jumping, then you DO NOT NEED HYDRAULIC DISC BRAKES! Disc brakes are only good when acute levels of control are needed when braking. V-brakes or the cable disc brakes that your bike came with will do the job just fine (there isn't actually much performance difference at all between Hydro and cable disc brakes). Spend the 拢200 on some new steel cranks or a set of Mavic 729 rims on a Shimano XTdisc rear hub and Hope Pro2 QR front hub (that way, they are ready for upgrades). - Perhaps get a set of Azonic single walls or some Easton EA30, these are great jumping bars and cheap, make sure you have a shorter stem fitted too, FUNN make great ones for 拢20 [check out CRC online]. If you do feel you have to get some overatted disc brakes then get some Hayes 9 (xc/6" rotors), I have two sets of Hayes brakes and they are a no hassle product to fit and service; Hayes customer service is also second to none. Experience in the same field of riding. Don't jump that bike buddy! The frame isn't built for that kind of abuse, you'll snap the frame and put yourself in hospital! Sell it and buy something more suitable. |
