Noob question about dirt biking?


I know how to ride a dirt bike in first gear i just don't know when you need to shift.

Shift up to go faster,downshift to slow down...Try second gear as soon as you get the bike moving,you'll figure it out from there...
when you hear the bike rev. (im a 13yr. old girl and i know that) at least thats what you do for 4wheelers
Listen to the motor...have you ever driven a manual vehicle? When it gets louder and more high pitched...thats when you shift! Your not going to go very fast in 1st gear.
