Why do dirt bikes and dual purpose bikes always have spoked wheels?

It seems like solid wheels would be better, you don't have to true them. Is there a reason dirt bikes always have spoked wheels?

They are more flexible for jumping etc.......
Because they have to be light if you wont to go off some jumps you wont it to have some balance.
1 its simple
2 it saves weight
3 its cheaper
Spoked wheels can be easily adjusted to the stresses of the use. Solid wheels are heavier and add to the weight. They cannot be adjusted if bent
what torski said. if u bend a mag rim, it's junk. mags are better on heavy touring bikes. laced wheels(spoked rims) are alot lighter, and could be cheaper if u bend a rim so bad it needs replaced.
laced wheels use tubes, mag's are tubeless.
They are far lighter than cast wheels and while they will bend they will not break as cast wheels do because their rims are far more malleable.
