Is Kink A good bike company? or is DK better? |
I'm debating between a kink gap bike 2008 model and a dk fury 20 bike. I will be using it primarly for my quarter pipe and dirt jumping and some skate/bike park riding, so I need a good overall bike. Thanks. I would go for the Kink because it has more chromoly parts ie, the frame which will be considerably stronger that the DK's aluminium frame. Having the stronger frame would be better for dirt jumping, but both have chromoly forks which are good. Also the Kink has a smaller sprocket 36T compared to the DK's 39T which is lighter and will be more "out-of-the-way" when dirt jumping and on the quarterpipe. And the DK's brake set up doesn't look to nice either. So I would say go for the Kink because you will get the chromoly frame and smaller sprocket, and possibly lighter bars and a more flexible brake set up. plus the Kink looks nicer and you get 2 pegs :). The kink would have to be the better choice for only approx $20-30 more. however once you get either one, I recommend getting a 48 hole rim and hub for a stronger wheel. Source(s): www.danscomp.com i like mongoose trick bikes i've heard good things about both companies. personally, i'd go with the kink, but i primarily mountain bike. the bike shop i use JRA Cycles in Medford MA sells kink bikes, and they're arguably the best bike shop in the boston area. hope this helps. |
