What should I look for in a good bike? |
My fiance and I would like to purchase bikes. We live in Southern Indiana. There are a lot of great trails to ride in this area. Most of the trails are dirt or gravel with small hills. I am 5'2'', 120 lbs. and he is 6', 180 lbs. We are on a budget. What bikes should we buy? take a look at Schwinn or Trek comfort bikes, they are comfy like a cruiser, but quick like a road bike and can handle dirt trails like a light mountain bike. If you are going to be aggressive on the trails, look at Specialized Hard Rocks. Well, what kind of budget? You know what you want to spend not us. $1000 for both? More, less, wayyy less? well i ride bmx but a good brand of dirt and gravel bikes are "rocky mountain rmx" check em out them if u want You will want a bike you want to ride. Sounds simple but if you are miserable on your bike you will not want to ride it and it will sit. That having been said, go to a bike shop, confess your newness, state your budget, and get fitted for a bike. You might have long legs and a short body (like me) or short stems and a longer body. Different bike sizing. You might spend a few more dollars in a bike shop but if you aren't riding the bike you bought you wasted a whole lot more. |
