Can Land Owners Shoot a trespasser? |
Today I was riding my dirt bike, and I started tralking to this guy as I took a break, He lived there for 25 years, he claims he was riding the other day, went in some privete property, and BOOM shot him with a shot gun, he felt one beeBee hit him, never did anything though to him,, Can they realy do this in ARIZONA How could anyone live with their self,if a kid just came on private property,and you killed him,you can say any thing on paper but to actually do it,takes another type of person. In some states it is legal to shoot a tresspasser if there is a no trespassing warning. if the property is marked they can, also, if the owner tells you to go and you advance he can kill you grave yard dead and not face charges, same the same in Texas and Arkansas. Good law to have. No, maybe in a burgulary of an occupant inside but not someone that steps onto your yard I don't know about Arizona, but here in Texas, you bet your life you can be shot trespassing in someones land/property. You can in Chicago !! If someone comes on your property or in your house. Ok, there are a lot of misconceptions on this subject. No matter what state you live in, you cannot shoot someone for simply being on your land. In fact, if they are in your garage, trying to steal your car, and you shoot them, you'll be convicted of manslaughter at the least. The standard for shooting someone has more to do with whether or not you are in immediate harm AND whether or not there was another option. If they are in your home, yes it's fine. if they are at your door, on the outside, then no, you'll go to jail. Even in Texas. |
