How do i get owner information on on private land to report an assult? |
one of my really good friendswas dirt bike riding and some people drove up to him and said that he was on privte property and proceeded to beat him repeatedly using a shot gun as threat telling him that they could kill him because he was on private property. my friend saw no signs posting this information but he was still taken to jail for trespassing and battery how do i find the names of the registered owners to file a report and also how would i file a report?? help please Go to the local (county or township) recorders office and give them the address or find the parcel number or better yet where and to whom the property tax statements are sent. Good luck Counter charge and sue the people whom assaulted him. Your friend may want to contact an attorney to fight the charges against him AND to file charges against the owners. A police report should have been filed at the time; hopefully documenting the injuries he sustained. If not, he can file one himself at the local station. You can look up the property address on your county's tax assesors home page. They should have a search engine that allows you to search by address. You can also try a reverse address look-up on anywho.com or whitepages.com. Good Luck! Sounds like you live in a "good ol' boy" area...Their property or not, unless they felt their lives were in danger by the trespasser, they have committed aggravated battery, a FELONY. I only know because I have many times wanted to stomp some folks trespassing on my property, and my attorney ALWAYS advises against it for that exact reason. |
