What is the best setting for a Kawasaki KX100 carburetor as far as the fuel air screw?

kawasaki, dirtbike, dirt bike, KX 100, 100 CC, carburetor, setting, suzuki, honda, atv, polaris, yamaha, engine, motocross, thor, mx, fuel, air, throttle, choke, idle screw,

Find the manual and set it to whatever it was set at OEM. Also, It is the air screw, not fuel air screw. 2-strokes have air screws and 4-strokes have fuel screws. the screw adjusts the amount of air going into the engine at <1/4 throttle. Take the bike out and ride it at <1/4 throtle. if it seems lean turn it out. If it seems rich turn it in, in 1/4 turn incriments. Usualy the ideal setting is between 1/2 and 2 1/2 turns out. reffer to this website for more help http://www.all-offroad.com/dirtbikes/beg... Source(s): 6 years experiance working on motorcycles
Chris B pretty well hit the nail on the head with the suggested number of turns out. However, be warned that the screw doesn't always control fuel only with 4 strokes. An easy mistake to make and that's where a shop manual comes in handy...with my model Kawasaki there was one year when the same brand (Mikuni) but different model carbs controlled air rather than fuel. That would be mighty important if someone happened to own that particular year.
