What is a good motorcycle to learn how to ride on for a first timer? |
Dirt bike or motorcycle included Well this motorcycle shop told me to learning on nothing bigger than a 500cc engine.. Good luck Source(s): A new female bike rider.. a one with sytabilisers a big fat harley. VLX600 Honda for cruisin', my guy has one with 40,000 miles on it and loves it! any 125 will do for the dirt The Honda Rebel is an excellent beginners road bike, small but powerful enough to keep up with traffic. Any dirt bike will do, just keep it at 250 cc's or under depending on your size. Many 125's are fast enough to be a blast and light enough to be handled easily by a beginner unless you're over 200 lbs. General rule for learning on, nothing bigger than a 500cc engine.250's are ideal for most people, only large people need to step up to a 500 or 600. But on the other hand, learning on a 500 will give you growing room, and you won't outgrow the bike as quick. Sport Bike? Ninja 250's are popular and well loved. I don't know much on dirt bikes, but being you'll be learning don't jump on anything bigger than a 125cc. Cruisers- Honda rebels are popular, but are to small for most people taller than 5'10. Kawasaki 500 Vulcan I think should be a good learner, and be big enough to not out grow for a while. I recommend if you plan on riding on the street, taking a MSF course. |
