Do I make them fix my property to prove a point or just be the bigger person? |
I have a piece of my property that wasn't fenced in and my neighbor knew it from day one and when he put his fence in he just hooked onto mine making my property look like his,, Its not a real big piece then he started riding a dirt bike and putting ruts in it, I didn't like it but from where my house is the dust etc didn't make it to me. Then my dad moved in and because of the layout he had to move close to the fence the guy threw a fit and started riding real close on purpose tearing ruts. My dad finally said enough backed him up on his own property, they put a priviacy fence up leaving 3 to 4 ft openings at the bottom I'm sure so the dust would still get dad from a distance. They said they would fix it but its beenabout 3 weeks and there obviously not gonna. My lawyer said he would write them a letter, but would it be worth it, if they got mad and started being jerks (throwing garbage etc). They just think they can bully everyone here do i prove them wrong? or just turn the (cheek Well I would defently say stand up for yourself, I have some similiar problems with neighbors.. I would go through with it or they will just keep doing it, until they get the right reaction out of you, that they want. The more you ignore these days the more they do.. Not only that you have the right to protect yourself and your property at the very least.. Go through with it,, if it gets ugly get a protection order by going to the court house,,, This helps alot btw. in any event,.. if you choose to be the bigger person I can relate to that I have been trying to be the better person for years but its not working,, therefore I am taking further action the law is there but there is so much they can dothey keep saying there is no crime, well in your case there is damage of public property, you can press charges, I would do so.. make them stop in their tracks before it gets worse,good luck and keep us in the known on what happens. I truly believe that you will have to fix the prob from your side of the fence. This neighbour sounds like mine: total jerk! Just block it from your side the best way you can. GL hon. get a life get a hobby get over it! what you gonna do when they take another piece .do a survey and then let your lawyer handle I would make them fix your property as if you don't the legal system might look at your neighbor as having squatters rights or such and having set a presidence of their usage. I would write them a letter, have them sign for it, so they can't say they didn't receive it. I would say that as said in our conversation, they agreed to fix the fence and I am still waiting patiently. I would give them a deadline to have it done by or legal action would occur. I would also let them know that I would have it fixed and bill them. I live in Canada and whenever there are problems like that, people usually call the city and complain. Then they have the city on their back as well, and sometimes are fined, depending on the circumstance and situation. But I definately being the strong willed person I am would not back down and allow someone to bully me and my family. Besides where would it end if you overlooked this, you would probably always have problems. If they caused other problems like throwing garbage for sure you could have them fined and other punishments as well. They may be troublemakers, but I don't think they would be that stupid. Good Luck to you! I agree, get a recent survey, put up your own fence and move on with your life. If the harassment continues, call the police. |
