What way would be the best...? |
Which way would be better for environment? Instead of driving to work (say it would be a 10min drive to work), which would be better for Earth: Ride a 4-wheeler, motorcycle, or dirt bike. Probably the motorcycle. But, hey, if it's a 10min drive, if the weather is nice enough, ride a actual peddle-bike. lol Generally a small car, possibly an electric for that short trip. The problem with the other alternatives listed is that they generally don't get any better gas mileage than a small car, and they have less effective pollution control systems. By all means ride them if you like it. There are lots of ways to help the environment, we don't have to give up things we like to do. Pick the ways to help that you like. If everyone did that we'd be a lot better off. But don't fool yourself about riding a motorcycle, etc., being better for the environment. At best, it's pretty equal. Really, environmentally speaking, you wouldn't be doing that much at all if you were still riding a motorized gas-driven vehicle to work. I mean, I would say to get an electric vespa or something, but those things break down all the time. How about mass-transit? Ever thought of taking the bus? Then you wouldn't be adding emissions at all. how 'bout a bus? |
