Looking for a decent old truck, preferably 4wd for under $2k.What's a good model to look for? |
So I want to keep my car for most of my daily use, however I really need a truck to haul stuff around every once in a while, I'd probably only drive it about 1-2 times a month, so I don't want to spend much hopefully between 1-2K. Here are the main key points I'm looking for. 1. I want one that gets somewhat good gas mileage, as long as it at least has enough power to tow a decent sized load (probably never anything bigger than a ski boat, or trailer of quads) up to 70mph. 2. I'd definetly prefer 4wd. Not planning to offroad like crazy, but I know I'll be driving through sand, mud, and rough terrain, since I'l be hauling dirt bikes out to sand dunes and mud bogs. 3. Something that is at least known for reliability, don't want to have to expect too many major problems. So that's what I'm looking for, any ideas of some good models I should look into, that I can realistically find in good shape in my price range. I plan to do most of my shopping off craigs list. Sounds like you'd be looking for an older Toyota, or Nissan truck. You can't kill an old mid-80's Toyota, but I have heard gas mileage is not all that hot.
