Ok i love four wheelin. but anything else? |
my parents dont think its safe for me to be out four wheelin. becasue i learned only a couple weeks ago. they dont want me going with my friends or on all the trails behind my friends house. i want to get better and show them but i dont think i can. we dont have a camp or anywhere we could go wehre i could show them. they deffinitly wouldnt want me driving them in the trails. well is there anything else i could try doing thats a little safer then four wheeling? my parents dont think its safe because they flip easily. well any information saying that four wheelers are safe is greatly appreciated. but i need some other ideas. jet skiing? dirt biking? anything like that. people get seriously injured or killed on four wheelers all the time because they are deceptively easy to operate. all you need to ride one are thumbs and a butt. yeah! you don't even need a brain! take a rider safety course from the ATV Safety Institute( i'm sure they have a website). stay on designated trails and obey local, state, and federal laws regarding OHV use on public lands (if that's where you ride). don't trash stuff and respect other public lands users, and you will build up good karma. Then, when you crash, (and everybody crashes) you might not hurt yourself that bad!! Happy Trails!! p.s.- cycling is a really good hobby. so is hiking and horseback riding. dirtbiking is more dangerous imo then riding quads. I have only rolled a quad once but that was because i was being stupid and slid sideways and hit a rock but it is easy to jump off. If you drive slow and respect their limitations you will be fine ive been riding for 4 years now i think ask your parents to buy or rent or borrow a four wheeler and ride with you then if they have a prob with the way you ride -don't get mad- listen to them , i have a friend who rides and he is in his late 60's. he and his wife and their family and friends go riding on trails that are very long and very far away and all enjoy themselve alot just remember before you can run you must walk (or in other words go slow to learn and then slow because it is more fun to ease thru than to bust thru) have fun be safe don't be stupid wear a helmet and if in heavy brush heavy boots and listen to your parents for a little while longer I LOVE riding 4 wheelers too! I'm 21 and my mom still cringes when I go riding with my friends because she thinks its dangerous....versus dirtbikes though, (and I don't know much about quads OR dirtbikes) I would imagine that the quad would be safer just because of the fact it has 4 wheels so that it is better balanced....but thats just a theory...I've only ridden a dirtbike once and I thought that the 4 wheeler was easier to manage. Maybe you could try telling your mother that, just say that 4 wheelers are pretty much the safest out of the two and see what she says then lol just a theory |
