I have an 85 suzuki outboard motor from the mid 80's, the oil injector doesn't work so I've been mixing the oil with the fuel. My question is, does the crankshaft and the other internal parts of the engine get oiled with the fuel/oil mix, or is there a sump with oil in it somewhere. This is my first two-stroke outboard, I've had two-stroke dirt bikes and they have a seperate place to put oil for the crank, in addition to the oil/fuel mixture for the top end. The outboard sits verticle and I can't find a place where there might be a sump. Any help would be appreciated.
Yes,the oil in the fuel mix lubricates the whole crank assembly and pistons. On your dirt bike, that oil was for the gearbox ,not the crankshaft. |
