Can someone tell me how to fix the handle brake of my bike? ?

Okay, I don't know anything about bikes but just to ride on it. Saw this bike at Goodwill for $40 but was able to get it at $20 bec. there was a problem with the handle brake for the back wheel. The other handle brake for the front wheel is working fine. So, the front brake is only working but I can still ride on it. They told me at Goodwill to buy a new cable wire at Walmart very cheap and it should work. Can someone tell me how I can fix this in easy steps? Thanks!

I went to Dick's Sporting Goods. They have bike repair shop and the staff suggested to replace the cable brake for only $13 that includes labor. Cheap. Thanks!

Step #1
Take bike to your local bike shop.

Step #2
Show the problem to the patient, helpful associate.

Step #3
Pay patient, helpful bike shop associate for repair.

Step #4
Take your bike home.

Sorry, not trying to be smart with you. Fixing it yourself isn't as simple as going to walmart, purchasing a wire and gluing it to the bike. You don't demonstrate an understanding of bicycle mechanics. Trying to learn from someone's explanation will be frustrating, and you still won't be able to get the brake adjusted properly.

Let the staff at the bike shop take care of it. It will be cheap, and you already got more than enough discount from goodwill for the repair. You'll be happy you did, and your bike shop staff will be happy to help you.

Since you didn't state what the problems with the brake are - it's be hard to say.
