What is this type of bike handlebar called? |
http://www.abikestore.com/Merchant2/grap... great ill buy a pair i used have them as kid. Cody, they are bar ends as previously described. The bike you want -- consider a Schwinn Super Sport ( Schwinn.com). For the money the Volare is junk. For similar $$ the Super Sport is far superior. ( and it comes with ergonomic bar ends that are much more comfortable than generic bar ends ) So you want those training extensions on your handlebars i have them on my MTB too they are not part of the handle bars they slide on the ends and you just tighten the bolt that holds them on there. They are for a more relaxing grip on the bike. the Olympic MTBs had them if you watch the mountain bike race Beijing Olympics on you tube. you can buy them at any bike shop and fit them on nearly any type of handle bars (looking pretty weird on road bike handlebars) the pair i bought were $15 and are the giant brand. They are not handle bars as such, what you are seeing are actually called "bar ends". They just attach to the end of regular handles bars and they are helpful as it gives your hands another position to use which is handy to prevent wrist cramps or discomfort on longer rides. Dude, these are bar-ends like a few have said. They are for more than looks. While thay offer more hand positions they are really for MTB trail riding. They are essential for steep hill climbing in particular. Just buy a bike with them if you like that junk.I prefer a jaguar myself. |
