Mountain bike tire flats? |
Last week I bought a new Trek Fuel EX 8 that came with both tubeless tires and wheels (they came with tubes in them), since then I have had about 5 or so flats. I have been running them thus far with tubes and have been fixing the flats every time. Is there some inherent problem with running tubes in wheels that can be tubeless? What psi should I be running at? I have tried different tubes and brands so its not a defect in the tubes, and every time I change them I make sure to clean the inside of the tire. Thanks Thanks, but I'm not quite sure what you mean by gel tyres. I googled it and didn't really find a lot. Do you mean going tubeless and using a gel tire sealant? A web site link would be very helpful I don't know much about tubeless tires, but I can tell you that I ride every day for transportation and I used to get a lot more flats than I liked, like once or twice a month maybe. And then I bought these tire strips, one brand is called "Mr. Toughy" (or "Tuffy"?) and they go between the tire and the tube (NOT the wheel and tube as some get confused with) and the amount of flat tires I get now is down to like 1 or less flats a year! They were like about $25 for 2 of these strips. I highly recommend them. Good luck. Why waste your time on buying tubes and pumping them up? |
