Wearing cycling shorts...? |
I just bought my bike and gear and planning my first cycling ride. My question is if I'm suppose to wear underwear under my cycling shorts? I've tried them on underneath at home, but it feels very uncomfortable and I would think once I start my ride, it would feel even worse. However, without my uw, you can definitely see the detail outline of my package, which is probably offensive to wear in public. The uw seems to smooth out any distinct lines. I've never heard of wearing a jock or thong or anything like that, so what's the norm? Absolutely no uw! That's the same mentality of wearing uw under boardshorts - They weren't designed for wearing anything underneath. Yet another example of our ultra conservative culture in the U.S. to cover up and hide what is natural. It's no secret that you have a package. If you fill the shorts out, then walk with pride! Those that are looking are either hungry for it, or envious. Commando only! I know they sell bike undershorts, but they sell lots of things we don't need. That's free enterprise. Underwear...Never, never, never. Most riders prefer not to wear Underwear but if you are uneasy about going without they make things called cycling briefs Bike shorts are designed to go Commando. I'm assuming you have real bike shorts with a pad or chamois in the crotch. NO never wear underwear with your bike shorts. No, you're not supposed to wear UW. It's all about minimizing chafing and friction. When you're riding, no one can see your equipment... it's called freeballing. the most comfortable thing ever. |
