Why is it I am always bending my front rotor?

I do not drive (cars have nothing to do with me, really), but I do expend indecent amounts of money every year on bikes (I mean push bikes) and all the small bobs and pieces to do with it such as callipers, brake pads and the like. And I really do not mind expending this money on it, but it really pisses me off buying new rotors because I know for sure they will get bent. So what is it that I am doing wrong? None of my friends have this problem and it seem like it is always me doing it, over and over again, I must say. My friends will break rims, headsets or whatever, but never a rotor will they? Oh crumbs, I am just so fed up!

Bob A. It is not like I do not notice it. Moreover, it is because I notice it that I get so pissed off. So as to why I am riding a bike instead, I'd say because of the challenge and because I am not sick. All my friends do tend to pass judgment so easily on me without taking into account why it is I am doing it. They think is because of the money, but they never ask how much I do actually expend every year on bicycles. I do not mean to rub it in, but my Rockhopper is 拢1000 worth whereas my new Rocky Mountain did cost me 拢2750, so what's with the fuss? It is not me who should be driving a car, but you guys, so keep doing it. For all that I care, it is bikes (and philosophy) what I am all in for. Sorry to disappoint.

i don't think the other guys are understanding here.

You may be braking too hard in the front. With excessive heat, rotors bend slightly. You should invest in a rotor straightener thing.

Are you talking a few thou or 1/2", I do not see how a rotor can be bent any significant amount in normal use, after years in the trade, I have only seen them bent due to damage, poor treatment, accidents or poor storage, etc.

You must be doing something to bend them. Offroading maybe.

Why are you riding push bikes. How do you not notice a bent rotor as soon as it happens ?

Ok I see your problem, your not George you are Dick..

It is all too clear to me is my agressive riding which is causing it. It is just that I kind of wanted you guys to say it. George, why is it you're riding your bike that hard?

Like the above said.. it is obvious the front rotor is gone. You notice it straight away. It could be the bike is too small for you and maybe your too heavy for it? Which meens your causing the bike too much pressure and the front rotor bends. If i were you, i would get someone to have a look at the bike with you on it and ask them if is too small. If you are 15-19 you should be riding a 19" frame and nothing smaller. Anything smaller will be pressurized.
If you are 20+ try a 21" frame plus(obviously depends on your height). So yeah, check the bike frame size and if it is 17", it is too small.
Hope i helped!
Good luck with it
