Why do female bicycles have lower top tubes. Shouldnt it be the other way around? |
Men are the ones in danger of racking themselves. bad wimpy biker. I am not a troll. I bicycle on the weekend and have back problems so I have been looking to buy a new bicycle. When I go to the bicycle store all the bikes that are easy for me to get on are classified as womens and I just wonder why they dont make one like that for men. They also steer me away from the womens bikes that look easier to ride. Its none of their business I will buy the bike I want! I also have trouble at stoplights and stopsigns when I have to get off my seat and the top tupe racks my balls! If I have to buy a womans bike I will to feel comfortable I just want to know if there is a legitamate reason not to. The top tube has been lowered for women in the old days because women on bicycles needed room for their dresses / skirts. The trend still stays on some bikes for that same purpose (usually casual bikes). Designs with a fundamental difference between men's and women's bicycles are either obsolete or just for marketing reasons. One top-level bicycle maker, Cervelo, claims that the whole woman specific design is marketing crap. What does make sense to me is that a woman's bike would have the adjustable brake levers or the ones with the smaller reach to account for hand size. Woman specific saddles also make sense. as has been stated, it is the dress thing... true about the men thing, So that trolls like you will have an inexhaustible supply of inane questions. Keep up the good work. |
