What is the purpose of Critical Mass, the group of 'bad bikers'? |
I can't believe I hadn't heard of them before. What are they trying to accomplish? They accomplish nothing. All they do is give cycling a bad name and cause police departments problems. Critical Mass Events need to be banned and the participants jailed, after all they're the ones breaking the laws. The purpose is to change laws and peoples treatment of cyclists in major cities through demonstrations. Unfortunately, the demonstrations usually consist of breaking many laws and becoming a general nuisance to those who drive in these cities. I understand that cyclists deserve the same respect as anyone else, but it's somewhat of a foolish endeavor. Extremists rarely get their way (unless they're the president). They(we) are trying to spread awareness about bike riding. No better way to show people than taking over the streets, and entertaining people. I personally try to make people laugh and smile when they see us. I mean, with the cost of gas now, more bikes should be taking over the streets! Let's get some bike only roads! Wouldn't that be sweet! I am not a fan of the "Critical Mass". I as well think that they give riders a bad name. Almost everytime I see this "mass", I avoid it like the plague. They just get in the way. I've been invited to do it and ALWAYS turn it down. It's so stupid! Bad riders is right. |
