How fast can you ride on a 10 speed (average)? |
What is the average normal speed (not over-exerting, just a sustainable speed) for biking on a 10-speed. I want to know how long it would take me to get to the supermarket from my house, and I need to know what the average speed would be. Ok, a pro rider in top shape with a high-end bike can do 20-22 mph. For the rest of us normal people, you can do a slow cruise at 10 mph and not end up covered in sweat. Just remember to ride in low gears with little resistance and pedal fast to keep from wearing your legs out. In plane land and no against heavy wind, 19-20 milies/hr. You can make 22 mi/hr - no problem. If assending, that depends on height. It may slow you down to 11-14 miles. If going down, 23-25 mi/hr If you are in decent shape 13-15mph is average. |
