My bike----brakes??

my sister works at a auction warehouse n they had very nice bikes-i had to get this sport one--got it home n seen the back brakes wer missin-the piece on the tire is the but the cord n hand brake is gone. is this easy to fix? can i get the stuff at walmart? i called there but they didnt know what i was talking about.
thanks

thank u everyone! didnt know this--last time i had a bike i was 14-15 n it got stole when boyfriend (now hubby) went to store. our daughter wants to go to the trails so we got these. ill try a bike shop-i thought they wer just to buy new bikes or custom made.

HA! No, Walmart wouldn't know. Walk into a bike shop with the bike and they'll know right away. It's a $20 part, at the most, and if they're not busy, they might install it for you. The cable and the tubing alone is probably $5 to 10.

w w:
At least one Walmart (Mountain View CA) has a bike shop in it.

Don't know if I'd trust the mechanic though.

As to the question at hand, I'd take the bike into your local bike shop and have them replace the part and tune the bike up--it will shift, pedal and brake a LOT better, and be a much more enjoyable experience.

walmart doesn't sell parts, or service bikes [yet]. mirageguitarworks alleged that they are putting "proffessional bike shops" in some stores soon. in the meantime you'll have to go to your local bike shop for the parts you're looking for. they'll even install the lever & cable, and make sure it's all working.

I doubt Walmart sells replacement components like brake levers or cables. You best visit a local bike shop-- They should have replacement components..

visit your local bike shop and get disk brakes
