my bike is 1020 steel which is lighter? Hi Ten, or Hi Tensile steel is what is called "mild steel". Millions of bikes have been built with the stuff and if you aren't competing it will be fine. Hi-Ten is plain old steel, otherwise known as 1010 steel. Much cheaper, softer, and as a result, heavier than chromoly. |
