How do you get faster on double bass pedals??

There are two kinds of muscle in your legs when you play drums and kick the 808. The general muscles which support your body and the fast twitch muscles which are good for fast leg movements and speedy reactions such as basketball and in your case drumming.

So as a fellow drummer, i would suggest that you skip rope at least 3 times a week for 20+ mins every time. That helped me to kick it faster on both legs and the co-ordination of the two became better. And also playing songs with the less dominant feet also gives you more practice to play faster, stronger and again more co-ordinated.

Hahaha, almost thought this was a cycling question... I think they're SPD compatible. I advise using a lower gear... you'll pedal faster.

Once you've mastered pedaling take the bass off, fish are slimy and cause your feet to slip. Not only will you be able to pedal faster but the squishy feeling will go away.
