Garty Fisher - Advance?

http://www.fisherbikes.com/bike/model/ad...

Would the Gary Fisher Advance be a good bike if I wanted to do some light to moderate trail riding?

My sister has a Gary Fisher Advance and it is a perfectly fine starter bike. It has a stout frame and decent, serviceable components. It is not a performance bike; it is too heavy for that. It will, however, provide you many years of light to moderate trail riding. If you begin to do more technical rides or lots of climbing, you'll want to upgrade.

If you aspire to more technical riding or climbing, I'd suggest taking a step up to Fisher's Genesis Hardtails like the Wahoo or Marlin. They are a more expensive, but a bit better suited for tougher riding.

You may also want to check out other bikes in your price range from Specialized, Trek and Giant. At any given price, the components and quality of the build are likely to be pretty similar, but the bicycles will ride differently. You want to get the one that is most comfortable for you.

Hope this helps.

You bet, for light to moderate trail riding that would be perfectly fine.

Make sure you have a helmet!

Absolutely a good bike for that kind of riding. I think the yellow is awesome.
