How much with this repair on my bike cost?

I was riding one day, and the bolt in the pedal snapped in half. a good portion is in the crank arm still. what will it take to get riding again?

Sorry that i dont know the terms, but what would be a strong peddle? this is the second time that the peddle broke. i think i need one with a very strong core???

drill it out and buy your own pedals for 20$ if it is a cheap bike. good pedals are around 50$
I have WTB metal cage pedals.

check u got insurance and u get free repair

You can perform this repair yourself if you have a 15mm wrench. Remove the old pedal axle. Install a new pedal.

You will find pedals for $9.99 (el cheap-o wal-mart) and up.

The pedals can be removed. It should be either a 9/16" or 1/2" wrench to remove it depending on if it's a road bike or mountain bike. You will have to get new pedals in a pair, they don't sell one pedal. Check your local bike shop for decent quality stuff; stay away from department stores. There is a right and a left pedal; an "R" or "L" will be stamped on each one. The different sides are also theaded opposite so you will tighten them in different directions.

A decent qualty pedal set might cost about $25-30 if you have toe clips and straps, clipless might be $50 and up.

The strongest axle on a pedal is the one for the Odyssey Trailmix.
