I have a Japanese style bike. My rear wheel has drum breaks. The squeaking noise is unbearable. Help!? |
The bike is only a year old. Don't oil your brakes! Take it apart and clean out the break dust. Then with fine sandpaper lightly sand the brake shoes as well. WD 40 :) Brake dust in drum probably.Take your wheel out and check brake shoes, they could be worn. Then get the hoover out and clean out the brake dust which i think is causing your squeaking. There is this spray in a can called WD-40 like someone else already said, it works great for cars, bikes, capmers, door hinges, locks, all of that, just don't use too much or it may get kinda smelly, hope it helps! (: Do !!NOT!! put WD40 or any other lubricant on your brakes. You do WANT to stop do you? Just take your drums off and brush out the dust. |
