I'm training for a half ironman in May-Diet Help!? |
I am doing my first multisport event this coming may and I know I need to rearrange my diet to accomadate for my increase in caloric output- Can anyone help me with what my menu should look like?? Any advice on training or experience would be great too! I am a 24 yr old female 5'4" about 150 lbs Oatmeal eggs low sugar bran muffins good breads yogurt lentils beans rice pasta fresh veg lean meats fish plenty of water vitamins That should do it. Just eat these foods in moderation and avoid junk foods and you'll be fine. Source(s): Training for 30+ years i love whole foods. that means unprocessed as much as possible, and it means whole grains instead of processed ones. for breakfast i typically have Kashi with apple juice instead of milk, some fruit. for a snack at midmorning i usually do more fruit. for lunch i do smoked turkey dressed with mustard on whole grain bread, and i usually throw veggies at it like green peppers, cucumbers, letuce. i usually have some smoked almonds, some dried fruit and a gatorade. before i ride in the afternoon it is usually more fruit. for dinner i focus on lean meats, usually chicken a couple nights, whole grain pasta some, lean beef, some fish. i try to mix that up. again i make the focus of my meal the veggies. how much you need would depend on your workouts, but in my experience if you eat whole foods, you almost can't get too many calories, you feel full from the bulk, and your body thrives on it. if you feel hungry, throw in another apple or pear or whatever. if you feel hungry, you are, eat, but eat healthy and you'll do fine i have found. |
