Fork Preload? |
Hey lately ive been wondering if i need to replace the spring in my fork. I sit on it with full plush full travel, and i get no sag whatsoever I ride dj/urban assault/some XC, so i was thinking is no sag a good thing for dj/urban? if so, is there some way to set it up so i can effectively use it for xc too? If not, is there some way to adjust it without replacing the spring? Fork is a 2001? rock shox psylo sl i weigh roughly 130 lbs You are at the low end for weight for that fork. EVERY fork when correctly set up should have at least 1/2" (12mm) of sag when you have weight on it. Check the lube in the fork, keep the stanchions clean. I know of a guy that puts a quick squirt of silicone spray on the stanchions near the seals before riding. He swears that this helps his performance. Source(s): 27 years in the industry |
