Was Miguel Indurain clean? |
After being such a successful cyclist was he supremely fit and skillful, or did he succumb to other methods? He went from five straight Tour wins straight to 11th, over 14 minutes down, in 1996. This was right about the time that EPO use started, and race speeds went up dramatically. If Indurain was cheating, he wasn't doing a very good job of it. Source(s): Pure speculation I reckon he was on the gear, there was always too much rumour none we can question them all, Indurain, cipolinni, armstrong. But friggin why? Let a dead dog lie and keep it clean now! Should we take away all the super bowl victories of every team? u know those monsters used, or the boxers, weight lifters and every other sport from high school, olympic and pro. No sport has been exempt. No country exempt. Our responsibility is to ourselves and immediate peers. So why cheat? While his admission of doping came after the statute of limitations, lets just lets sleeping dog`s lie. And hope in the years ahead we have a cleaner sport and that the spot light is taken off cycling's murky past. He was never found positive, or even a trace of anything in his life long career. That includes the Olympic games, Word Championships, "vueltas", etc. etc. and , of course, more than five tours. His heart was 30% bigger (better) than the average rider in the peloton and his lungs where in accordance with that heart. I believe there are many cyclist who have been clean, as other have been rotten apples, but not everybody is in the same basket. |
