How do u apply a bearing into the skateboard wheel? |
How do u apply a bearing into the skateboard wheel? Since skateboards are sold at most bicycle shops, I'll give you an answer. You take the wheel off the skateboard using a 12mm socket wrench. The skateboard wheel has two sealed bearings. You might need to pry them out with a screwdriver. (Are you installing new bearings, or do you want to re-grease the old ones?) Use plenty of paper towels or rags , and spray some WD-40 onto the bearings. (or you can use mineral spirits-paint thinner, or you can use rubbing alcohol). When you have the bearings clean, use some bicycle grease to re-lubricate them. You should push grease into the bearings with your fingers and your thumbs. Try turning the bearings with a pencil, if they suck up more grease, add a little more. Press the bearings into the wheel. I use my thumbs to press them in. Put the wheels back on the axles. Put the 12mm nuts back on with the 12 mm wrench. Go skateboarding! I thought this was the Cycling category? not skateboarding? |
