New mongoose black comb bike with disc brakes, brakes squel? |
When I ride I hear a squeak noise from the back and the continues till I brake a little in the back. Well, now you know another reason not to buy a bike at a discount store... no service. It could be a loose caliper or a loose disc. It could be that there is dirt on the disc or brake pads. It could be a loose pad. It could be a misalignment. The best thing to do is to identify the maker of the brake (I think it is probably Promax) and go to their website. They should have a whole section on service and troubleshooting. It will probably do you no good to take it to the store. Returning it for another one will likely not get you a better operating bike. The BEST thing to do is to take it to a real bike shop and ask them to tune the bike up... usually between $30 and $60. If you want to do it yourself, either send me a message, or post the brand and model of brake, and I'll let you know how... (there are mechanical or hydraulic for which there are single piston or double piston) good luck work in a bike shop hmm squealing disc brakes... I suggest you take it to the place you bought it and have them tune the brakes. If you bought the bike online, then go to your local bike shop and have them do it Next time tell us what brakes you have . I have Magura on my bike and I do not know what make , if you have hydraulik or cable , double piston , single piston and so on . They need just to adjust and will by OK . Take it to bike shop . |
