BMX Sponsor!?!? |
Where and how to start finding one? What should i offer the sponsor in return for sponsorship? generaly you will ride in competition on the sponsors team wearing a t shirt or some such with the sponsors name and or logo on it. the thought being that if consumes see a good rider doing well it is a direct result of the riders use of the sponsors product. for example right gaurd deodorant makes me ride faster. local sponsor ships are easy, just ask local bike shops if they field a team or riders in your discipline (race, street, park, dirt) and what would they be looking for in a rider. the best way bto find them in the mood for this sort of thing is to finnish well at local competitions. as your skills increase and you compete at bigger events there will be larger sponsorships. i found when i was riding street that as an older more accomplished rider that i could sway younger riders and theyre parents towards certain shops or products by recomendtion and use. sell this to local shop owners if you have that kind of clout. all the riders at my local park new that i bought all my parts from one shop and my name was mentioned regularly by them at the shop. i started wearing a shop t when i rode and before you knew it the owner was floating me free stuff for the increased buisness. it wasnt a traditional sponsorship but it greatly reduced my parts expenditures and encouged me to advertise for that shop as much as i could. good luck I had a nephew who used to race local and state events. His main sponsor was a bike shop who offered him parts, in exchange for showing their logo on the bike frame and on his racing jacket. He found the sponsor by approaching the owner during an event. |
