What is the bike prop called that allows you to cycle at home??? |
U know how professional cyclists use their outdoor bike inside by proping it up.........but what is it called cause I want to search online for it. HELP! :):):) Thanks! Hey, Two types 1. rollers... these can be hard to get used to as you have to stay within a ~2foot width... They are essentially 4 rollers that spin - 2 for each wheel. If you go this route, start in a doorway at least until you get the hang of it. These are feel more like you're out riding, and are the closest thing to it. 2. Rear wheel trainers. there are two types. one that the rear tire spins on (need a slick tire), and one that grabs the rear rim. They both hold the bike by the rear axel, with the front tire on the ground. With the kind that the tire sits on, you need the slick tire, otherwise it'll be very bumpy. They also make tires just for trainers - check out continnental. The other kind, you don't need to change your tire, but it doesn't feel as nice as the first kind. There are many types of resistance: wind, magnet, and fluid, and some come with attachments for the handlebars to change the resistance on the bike. good luck Source(s): work in a bike shop There are two types, the trainer, which lifts the rear wheel off the ground and attaches to the rear wheel mounts, then there is the roller that you actually balance the bike on top of and ride. It's a little more dangerous if you don't have good balance. Check the link below... http://www.nashbar.com/results.cfm?categ... It's called a trainer. |
