How do you ride a bicycle? |
I would like to know how people balance on a bicycle and just ride in general. Thanks. Gawd ! Easier to show, than it is to write. It's all a question of balance and the rest follows on naturally, get someone to teach you, it wont take as long as you think! You will get to thoroughly enjoy it too! Give it a go. . get yourself training wheels first. i've actually forgotten how to ride. . . its just something people do without thinking i guess. . . good luck btw it's an impossible question to answer but once you learn, you never forget its a matter of balance and trust in physics! I will ride my bicycle according to distance and time sit on seat peadle and hold on! done!!! get some stableizes or training wheels peddle keep your weight in a neutral position , if you feel that your leaning to one side lean to the other less. PRACTISE. training wheels help alot I ride by getting on and pedaling. If you are asking how you might learn how to get on, balance, and later ride, then drive in traffic- there are plenty of answers already. Training wheel are one way. Try taking the pedals off, lower the seat, and just scoot. If you are with an experienced teacher who took the pedals off, you'll be in a grassy area with a small slope. After about an hour, you should be able to scoot several feet. After a couple days, you'll be ready for the pedals. Then steering. Then starting and stopping, then higher speed. Eventually you'll be ready for 3 bike handling skills important for riding in general - _quick stop_ -- stopping quickly using both brakes-- throwing your weight rearwards is critical. _rock dodge_ -- hitting rocks with the front wheel can throw you off or make you lose control. dodge rocks and pavement defects by flicking the handlebars _quick turn_ -- counter steer to make the bike lean, followed by quickly moving the handlebars the opposite direction to miss right hooks (cars turning immediately in front of you, too close for stopping) Eventually the mechanics of riding will be like talking -- do you aspirate with certain sounds? |
