I ran over a small nail with my bike, I dont have to replace tire right? just innertube? |
small hole in on the untreaded inner part of the tire (as in it is on the part of the tire closest to center, near rim), the tire part is still fine right? just checking, plz dont laugh at me =) The tube can be patched or replaced. If the hole in the tire isn't too big, and the tire's tread has some life left in it, sometimes you can get away with putting a small piece of duct tape on the inside of the tire and then put a patch over the duct tape. That's only a temporary solution, but at least you can get your money's worth out of the tire. Just make sure to check the inside of the tire for any sharp objects before you replace the tube. Source(s): I've done it before The problem could be that if the innertube is inflated and starts to go out the hole, it will rupture. See if you can find something to cover over the hole from the inside to stop this. Depends how big your hole is, unless it was an enourmous nail you can wack some duck tape on the inside of the tire to plug the hole.
