I'm 6'1",want to buy scott scale 30,what size? |
By some reasons,I have to buy scott scale 30 online, please tell me what size I should buy,L(18.9")orXL(20.9"),I'm 6'1" tall, 34" inseam,253lbs,thank you! Hey, First thing first, nothing beats getting fitted in a shop. There is so much to frame fitting these days with all the unique geometries, TEST RIDING and FITTING are vital! I can't stress this enough. Anyways, here is a formula we sometimes use in our shop (along with 1st person interaction of course) but at least you can get an idea of your ideal frame size. (2/3) x inseam in cm - 11-12cm (for xc bike) = _______ A road bike traditionally fits to about 2/3 of the inseam. so: (2/3) x ~87 - 11cm = ~46 cm 46 cm's in inches is about 18.5. You want some clearence between you and the frame when you stand over it. Ideally around, but not exceeding 3''. I would go with the Large frame for a cross country bike if you are using it for trail riding - which I can pretty safely assume you are... Good luck! Source(s): work in a bike shop The large frame would be a little stiffer if you like to hammer, but either it or the extra-large would fit you. If you prefer to run a short stem for downhill and stunts, keep that in mind. You could choose either one and be ok. With the large frame, you may have to run your seatpost higher if you want full xc leg extension. Off the cuff, I'd tell you to get the extra-large, but so much of that depends on how you like your components to be configured. your should defineatly ask a reatailer. They can help you go to you local bike shop and they will fit you properly. |
