What size cycling vest ? |
Will a 40" chest size for a cycling vest fit a 44" chest for a regular t-shirt. (Isn't it made from, what i believe is technically called, "stretchy stuff") ? In all probability no. I am not sure if you are truly talking about a vest or a cycling jersey. As far as jerseys go, you will probably need an extra large. If it is a racing or European cut you will probably need an XXL. I have found that cycling jerseys made in the US run about comparable to t-shirt sizes. A large jersey fits a person who wears a large t-shirt. The European cut jerseys need to go up one and sometimes two sizes (i.e., XL, XXL). Since I generally wear about a 42, I think you would need to go up to XL for a standard jersey. Hope this helps. xl will be fine yes, cycling stuff is stretchy, but if you over stretch it by buying too small a size it causes it to wear much faster. also in cycling stuff things vary a lot. jerseys and shorts built by european makers run smaller. you may have to actually buy a size larger. this is why i like to find one brand i like and buy it over and over because i know how it will fit me. typically i buy descente 99% of the time. i know i need a xxl jersey and xl shorts, and i know how they will fit. |
