What is a micro dropout on a bmx?
the above is correct. however larger dropouts protect your rear hub and cassete assemblies durring a grind. if its a matter of choosing a frame, let your ability make the call. if you have persision rear peg placement abilitys then the micro drop outs are the way to go. if you are still learning then a larger drop out will save you some expensive parts.

crusty old rider micro dropouts are small dropouts that do not hang down very far below the axle. The reason for this is that a rider will often wind up grinding on his dropout rather than the pegs...this creates more drag and thus less distance and slower grinding speeds.
