Commuter bike?

I am looking for a bike to ride approximately 2 miles to work in business casual attire....what would you recommend....I don't want to wear down the the heels of my shoes or get my dress pants caught in the wheel....thank you!!

You'll want something with gears and fenders. The gears will allow you pedal at a speed and effort that keep you from being sweaty and nasty when you get to work. Fenders will keep you cleaner and dryer when there is water on the road.
As mentioned previously, get some clips that keep your pants safely away from the chain.

Beyond that, your local bike shop should have a variety of bicycles to try out. I think "hybrid" type bikes work nicely for commuting. They have a upright postition which is comfortable for short distances. They have wide tires to give you some shock absorption. Depending on how much you want to spend, some have front suspension forks. However, if you don't plan on getting off road, I'd pass on the suspension fork. The big three: Trek, Cannondale and Specialized all make nice hybrid bicycles at a variety of price points. You may want to check out their websites prior to going shopping.

Many folks also love the lineup of bicyces from Electra Bikes. Electra makes very stylish, retro, "cruiser" bikes with gears, fenders, chain guards and the works.

Hope this helps.
I have these nifty straps the i wrap around my pants so they don't get caught in the chain i'm not sure what theyre called but i bought them at a bike shop. I am a big fan of specialized bikes. Look into one of their Globe models.

Check out the Electra Townies. They're real cool and easy to pedal. Also one of the few with a chain gaurd to keep you from getting clothes caught in the chain.
