Does anyone know the exact distance between the South and North gates on the trail through the usaf academy? |
Does anyone know the exact distance between the South and North gates on the trail through the usaf academy? Kinda hard to figure exactly. (I am from CS but only do pavement) Below is the source that says from County line to city limits is 17 miles. (county trail index) South entrance is pretty much city limits, North entrance is about 6 miles? from county line, so probably about 11-12 miles. http://www.springsgov.com/page.asp?navid... is the City's trail map index. more data: Getting there: This trail has several different access points along I-25. We've highlighted the northern terminus, in the town of Palmer Lake along Colorado 105. You can also begin at these points: (2) Colorado 105: trail access is 1 block west of I-25 in Monument (3) Monument trailhead: From I-25 take the Monument exit and proceed west into town. The trail access is at 3rd Street. (4) Baptist Road exit off of I-25; head west one block and turn right into the parking lot. (5) North Gate Road- one block west of I-25 at the north entrance to the U.S. Air Force Academy. (6) Ice Lake Trailhead: From I-25, take Academy Boulevard exit 150 north (South Gate Road). After crossing over a large bridge, turn left onto Pine Valley Drive and again take your first left on a dirt road by the electric transformer station.
