Who is most likely to pick up sponsorship of the defunct Discovery Channel team?

They have the best team in the sport, and despite all the doping problems in cycling (not with this team even) someone has to want to be involved with them, right?

Well I heard that George Hincapie is probably switching teams because Discovery does NOT have a sponsor for next season. We'll see. Team Slipstream will probably be the next US team in the peloton next year. Maybe even the Tour and spring classics.the dont have a firm commitment at this time. i suspect between armstrong's influence and all, that someone will step up. cycling season isnt over until November, so they have time yet.
Tailwind Sports announced today that they have ended the quest for a new sponsor. This means that the team and organization behind it will essentially be disbanded. The riders will likely find new contracts elsewhere. Definitely a downer for American Cycling.
OMG... Cycling is so different then big franchise sports. Discovery, one of the very best teams is the world... will vanish?

That wouldn't even happen to one of the perpetually worst teams in all of American pro sports - The Detroit Lions.

Without a "home" read that "stadium", a ticket buying home fan base and TV revenue, cycling will always be cash poor. Teams will come and go, the sport fighting endlessly for recognition outside of Europe. Doping has little to do with it, it's been this way since the sport began.
Wow, hard to even imagine that these riders might not be together next year as a complete team. I like the thought of Slipstream possibly picking up a few of these riders, but I really want to see an American company step up to the plate and become the main sponsor.

its sad, but they will dissolve. the pros on the team will find some decent contracts elsewhere.

but on the other hand, how funny would it be to see a in-n-out team, or sam adams?
