Chaffy Legs after cycling? |
I have been riding consistently all summer. about 3 times a week. I am training for the MS 150 in September. My problem is that after I ride my (inner legs) just below my groin because insanly chaffy. It hurts like hell, I usually have to skip rides because I keep irritating the skin there. Any suggestions? Is there a good oitment, I do hydrocorotzone and cover it with Gold Bond. I just got done my long ride on Saturday 65 miles and i have been out of commission due to this skin irritation since then. it is driving me nuts! You should try Astroglide, fellow marathon trainees used it and highly recommended it. Here's a link to a free sample: http://www.astroglide.com/samplerequest.... :) i have this all the time 2 things work; buy long underwear to stop your thighs from rubbing or but cornstarch on it. it works all the for me! hope i helped! Hi , I have the answer for you ! Buy Penaten , any drug store baby section . Cheap and work just perfect ! There are lots of bike specific products that you need to look into. I've used bag balm, butt butter and the Performance Bike Shop store brand. The Performance brand was suggested because it lasted the longest. I find that it doesn't go away until I wash it off in the shower even after a 100 mile ride. Make sure you slather it on. I find it helpful when I'm still in pain to put a little on with regular clothes. Good luck in your training for the MS150, it's a great cause! 25 Years Experience Check out the ointmnets suggested here, you need to take care of that. But the root of the problem is one of two things: 1. Wear padded bike shorts. The legs are long and allow your leg to slip by the seat. 2. Your seat may be too padded or wide. There is a reason (you found it) that cyclist use narrower, lightly padded seats. When I ride, regardless of how long I NEVER have this type of problem. Been riding for 30 years. bag balm works for me, and is pretty cheap. |
