Raising Handlebars on Rockhopper MTB?

Can someone please tell me how to raise the height of my handle bars?

There are two ways: buy a new stem, or buy a new handlebar.

If you go with the stem, you want something with more of a rise. A shorter stem will seat you more upright. You can also get adjustable stems.

If you go with the mountain bars, you can get riser bars. I like the easton EA50's. Thats just opinion though.

CT nailed it. However, if you're desperate and do not intend to trail ride, that is street and path ride only you can buy a stem extender. Bike Nashbar sells em.
have u tried spacers yet? id start there they go above the headset and under the stem, this will only be small increments though, if that dont work u can get a stem with a bigger degree of rise to it or riser handlebars.
