If someone were to get into cycling how would they do it and are there any races in wisconsin? Check this site out it lists several clubs in your state. Joining a club IS the way to get into racing. Clubs train, mentor and sponsor racer and races. if none are close to you they may know other clubs not listed. http://www.geocities.com/colosseum/6213/... I would start with a used stead until after a while in the sport you start to know what's good and what's not. As for clubs and races check out Active.com for groups and races in your area. Start researching training, nutrition and equipment. Get connected over the internet with clubs and other groups like listservs. Get a subscription to a bicycling magazine. The European mags tend to be race intensive. Cycling+ from the UK is more training/touring/commuting. Experience let me know if you find out anything good - i'm in WI and just bought a bike myself. i can't find a group in my area. |
