Bmx chain tensioner what is it and what does it do? |
Bmx chain tensioner what is it and what does it do? chain tensioners pull the rear axle back in the rear dropouts. they loop around the rear axle and push against the frame, usually against the dropouts. they work by evening out the tension on both sides of the axle as well as resisting the forward pull of the chain keeping the axle straight in the drop outs. i dont know about a smooter ride they mostly act as a fail safe for rearends that get jammed around alot. i used em for years when i rode bmx they were helpfull.
