My bike handle grips? |
can someone help me please!! i cant get the bike handle grips on...is there a way to like use heat to stretch the rubber out and make it slip right on? please someone help. Windex or any type of not too soapy water. Once dry, they stay put. Been doing this for 30 years. Learned it when I was a bike mechanic. Dip them in very hot water for 10 to 20 seconds. You will probably want to use tongs to pull them out. Let them cool enough to hold and then slide them on. They should be pliable enough to slip on with minimal effort. The easiest way to do it is to spray the inside of the grip with hair spray. They should slide right onto the bars. Allow it a little time to dry before riding. Open the hot water and keep them there for like a minute or two, then put them immediately in your bike. use an air compressor place the grip on the bar as far as you can then blow air between the grips and bar and you will be able to slide them on. use some water, put it in the grip and a little bit on the bar itself and slide it on none of these are appropriate answers, if you have an air compressure thats the first way to go. stick it under the grip part facing the inside of the handle bars and hit the button so the air comes out and it inflates the grip which enables you to easily twist the grips on fast. they dont need to dry. #2 way use water, soak the grips a little not too much but enough to cover the whole grip the wet the handle bars and slide them on while twisting them on. they'll need at least a day or so to dry, leave in the sun or blowdry if u want quick results. #3 way use hair spray or wd 40 and spray the inside of the grips and the handle bars do the twisting motion and let them sit for 1-2 days in the sun or blow dry ect hope i helped, if any bike questions email me at b_wallach@yahoo.com with the subject as bmx or bike , or bike help |
