My pedal is welded onto the crank-how can i get rid of the weld? |
my pedal fell of twice so i welded it on.....i don't know why! now i need to change my pedals.... Buy some Turbine LPs or North Shore square taper cranks and a Phil Wood BB. And, no welding your bike! ts Change the crank, it's the only way. If pedal is welded to the crank it is easy to change crank and pedal as a set. when anything loose in threads ,better use lock tight liquid instead of welding. rangarajan. If you know how to weld, you should now how to cut off the weld with the same torch... or you could file or grind off the weld. you have a one piece crank. in the bmx industry...those suck. specifically for the reason your asking about. a good bike and expensive two will usually have a three piece crank. these are better in times like yours right now. if you land sideways and bend the pedal...just buy another pedal and thats it. no suffering tryin to buy the whole crank! plus three pieces are lighter and easier to accelerate. enjoy! you wont find these at a wal mart or some place like that. only a professional bmx shop will carry them. i bmx'ed for seven years. |
