What dose this mean in bmx 14 mm dropout in the front and back!?
Bmx bikes have 2 different sized dropouts. Dropouts are the slots in the frame and fork that the wheel axles fit into. Older frames and wheels were all 3/8" except for some smaller cheaper ones. New bikes, especially jumping bikes, often come with a larger, 14mm axle. It's stronger, but heavier. If you aren't sure what your bike has, look at it. If the axle is the size of an average adult pinky finger, it's 3/8", if it's more like an average adult thumb, it's probably 14mm. |
